End-User License Agreement
The licence that governs your use of the PinVari app. Effective August 18, 2026.
This End-User License Agreement ("EULA") governs your use of the PinVari macOS application (the "Software"), published by KAK Digital (Karthik), a sole proprietorship based in India ("Licensor", "we", "us"). By installing or using the Software, you agree to this EULA. It supplements our Terms of Service; if there is a conflict about the app itself, this EULA controls.
1. License grant
Subject to your compliance with this EULA and payment of any applicable fees, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to install and use the Software on Macs you own or control, for your own use or the internal use of your organization, in accordance with your plan's seat limits.
2. Distribution and signing
PinVari is distributed as a Developer-ID-signed, notarized macOS application delivered outside the Mac App Store, because the features that make PinVari work — a global hotkey and reading the on-screen UI element you point at — require system access the App Store sandbox does not permit. You should install PinVari only from pinvari.com or a channel we designate.
3. System permissions the Software needs
To function, PinVari asks macOS for certain permissions, which you grant through the operating system and can revoke at any time in System Settings:
- Accessibility — to detect the on-screen UI element you circle.
- Screen Recording — to capture the region of your screen.
- Microphone — to record what you say during a capture.
- Speech Recognition — to transcribe your voice on-device.
PinVari uses these permissions only to provide its features. It does not use them to monitor you in the background; captures happen when you invoke them.
4. What you may not do
You may not:
- Copy the Software except as needed to install and back it up;
- Sell, rent, lease, lend, sublicense, or distribute the Software or your license key;
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software, or defeat its license or security mechanisms, except where the law expressly permits despite this restriction;
- Modify or create derivative works of the Software;
- Remove or alter any proprietary notices.
5. Ownership
The Software is licensed, not sold. We and our licensors retain all right, title, and interest in and to the Software, including all intellectual-property rights. This EULA gives you no rights other than the license expressly granted.
6. Local processing and third-party services
By design, the Software processes and stores your captures, audio, transcripts, and integration tokens locally on your Mac. Certain optional steps may use third-party services (for example Deepgram, OpenRouter, and any AI agent or tracker you connect), as described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for your use of those services and for having the rights to any content you route to them.
7. Updates
We may provide updates, which may add, change, or remove features. Updates are covered by this EULA unless they come with new terms. We are not obligated to provide updates or support indefinitely.
8. Open-source components
The Software may include third-party or open-source components licensed under their own terms; those terms apply to those components and, where required, are made available with the Software.
9. Warranty disclaimer
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Software is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. You use the Software at your own risk. Automated classification and routing may be inaccurate; review results before relying on them.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, in no event will the Licensor be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of data, profits, or business, arising from the Software. Our total liability under this EULA will not exceed the amount you paid for the Software in the twelve (12) months before the claim (or USD 50 if you use only the free plan).
11. Termination
This EULA is effective until terminated. It terminates automatically if you breach it. On termination you must stop using and delete all copies of the Software. Sections on ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law survive termination. Captures already stored on your Mac remain yours.
12. Governing law
This EULA is governed by the laws of India, with the courts at Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India having jurisdiction, without limiting mandatory consumer rights in your place of residence.
