A practical guide to Image Downloader by PinVari. Read the privacy policy.
Collect from the page you are viewing
Click the extension button to open a new workspace. Right-click an image for its download preview or to add it to an existing collection. Right-click the page and choose “Collect page in side panel” to keep browsing alongside your images.
Find a larger image
Open an image’s Versions tab and choose Check versions. Verified file-header dimensions appear beside available candidates. Use a checked version or the largest checked option. The extension only checks addresses exposed by that page; an inaccessible original cannot be recovered by guessing its address.
Image or page access was denied
Your selection is preserved. Try the action again and choose whether to grant the displayed host access. To remove earlier grants, open Help & privacy → Privacy → Reset website access. Protected Chrome pages and the Web Store cannot be collected.
Downloads are missing or interrupted
Open your browser’s Downloads page. The export receipt distinguishes completed downloads from requests handed to the browser. A large selection is split into ZIP parts. Keep the workspace open to resume an unfinished queue; completed ZIPs are not kept in extension memory. If one image fails, its receipt explains the failure and provides a retry route.
Copy and share
Copy image prepares a single-frame PNG. If the browser needs a fresh click after permission or conversion, click Copy PNG again with the window focused. Sources offers Copy image URL. The selection’s three-dot menu offers Copy selected URLs and Create contact sheet. Contact sheets are local PNG overviews, with an optional source CSV. Review source addresses before sharing the files yourself.
Saved collections and recovery
Library saves references and settings, not offline copies of source images. Backup & import exports a local JSON backup. Imports create new collections and never silently overwrite existing ones. If another window changes a collection while you edit it, reopen the latest version or choose Save a copy.
Unreadable Library records do not hide your valid collections. Recovery lets you download the original stored records for inspection. It does not automatically delete or repair them. Backup and recovery files can contain source URLs; keep them private unless you intend to share them.
Know the limits
A selection can contain up to 2,400 images. Each ZIP holds at most 200 images and 100 MB; each downloaded source is limited to 20 MB. Conversion uses one frame and is limited to 32 megapixels. Original preserves source bytes. Some signed URLs, authenticated hosts, temporary blob images and frames may remain unavailable.
Usage & reliability
Usage and reliability reports help improve download reliability and understand version adoption. They are enabled automatically for new Chrome Web Store installations of version 2.5.0 and later. Updating an existing installation preserves its setting, including an earlier opt-out, and does not automatically enable diagnostics. You can turn reporting off in Help & privacy → Usage & reliability. Collection and download features work with diagnostics off. No page or image addresses, image contents, titles, filenames or collection names are included. Turning it off stops reporting and requests deletion of stored diagnostic events; an offline notice means deletion could not be confirmed. See the privacy policy for the exact fields and retention.
After removing the extension
Removing the extension clears its browser storage, including local settings and saved collections. Files already downloaded remain on your device. If diagnostics had been enabled, the browser may report removal through the signed uninstall address. You can contact [email protected] with privacy questions.
Report an issue
Email [email protected] with “Image Downloader” in the subject. Include the extension version shown in Help & privacy, your browser version, the action you attempted and the visible error. Include a source-page URL only if it is public and you are comfortable sharing it.
Export receipts can help diagnose a failure, but may contain filenames and private source URLs. Review them before sending. Never send passwords, session cookies, API keys or private image contents.
Content rights
The extension helps save accessible images; it does not grant permission to reuse them. Download and reuse only images you own, have permission to use, or are otherwise entitled to use. It does not bypass logins, website protections or access restrictions.
